Verstappen on prestigious list of most influential people for the first time
Max Verstappen is on Time Magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. The Dutchman is on the list for the first time in 2024 and is the third F1 driver ever to be featured.
Max Verstappen will be on the TIME100 list in 2024. The list of the 100 most influential people of that year. The list officially began in 1999, and a select group of members are invited to a gala each year. Whether Verstappen will also show up for that gala remains to be seen.
Verstappen is not the first driver on this list
Verstappen is the third F1 driver to appear on the list. Lewis Hamilton was listed in 2020, the year he would win his seventh world title, while Michael Schumacher appeared on the list in 2005. This was a year when he didn't win the championship but had just concluded a run of five consecutive title wins.
Verstappen enters the list after a year in which he completely dominated Formula 1. Last season, Verstappen won 19 of the 22 Grands Prix and became world champion for the third time in a row. The Dutchman also managed to record the longest-ever win streak of 10 victories in F1 in 2023.
The list of 100 includes other big names from the world of sports, such as Patrick Mahomes, Jenni Hermoso, and A'ja Wilson.
