Arvid Lindblad

Arvid Lindblad has been part of the Red Bull Junior Team since 2022, which is the development program of Red Bull Racing. The young Brit, born on August 8, 2007, in London, is considered a great emerging talent who might be on his way to an early entry into Formula 1.

Arvid Lindblad: The New Top Talent from Red Bull After Max Verstappen?

The 16-year-old Arvid Lindblad will compete in Formula 3 for Prema Racing in 2024. He immediately made a strong impression: he won the very first race of the season, the sprint race in Bahrain, as a rookie in the F3 season. In the second race weekend, in Melbourne, he secured a second place in the sprint race. In Spain, the young talent won his first main race.

Helmut Marko Impressed by Arvid Lindblad

Lindblad is considered one of the top talents in the Red Bull Junior Team, according to Helmut Marko, who leads the development program. The Austrian top advisor has praised the young British driver on multiple occasions, and there is a chance that it won’t be long before we see him in action during an F1 session.

Red Bull and Lindblad Could Benefit from FIA Rule Change

In June 2024, the FIA decided to modify a rule that was introduced after Max Verstappen’s early debut. This rule previously made it impossible for drivers under 18 to make their debut in Formula 1, and they were also required to have a valid driving license. The rule was changed after Williams requested an exemption for Andrea Kimi Antonelli to allow for a potential early entry for the then 17-year-old Italian and prepare him for a seat alongside George Russell at Mercedes.

According to Lindblad himself, Formula 1 is not currently on the horizon. “I think Formula 1 and the super license are still far away. So I’m not really thinking about it, to be honest. We’ll see what happens in the future. I’m still inexperienced. I’m not thinking about what happens later. What happens in the future isn’t relevant at this moment,” said the Red Bull junior in an interview with, among others, GPblog.
