furious gasly after free practice in china

Pierre Gasly has been frustrated with Alpine for a while. The Frenchman didn't perform well during the first and only practice session ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix, and he let his feelings out on the team radio.

"Guys, this is not acceptable! I haven't learned anything. Absolutely nothing!" The race engineer did sympathise with the Frenchman: "Sorry about that, mate. We'll have a look at these issues and try to get ready for sprint qualifying." Gasly will not get another practice session this weekend, but they can change the car between the sprint race and qualifying for Sunday's Grand Prix.

Alpine has revealed that Gasly's session was hampered by a problem with isolating the ERS. The team needs to fix this problem quickly, as the sprint shootout is scheduled shortly after practice.
