Verstappen wanted to keep one special F1 trophy himself: 'That's the only one'

As it is with most Formula 1 drivers, Max Verstappen does not get to keep the trophies that he wins. Instead, they are carted off to Red Bull Racing's headquarters in Milton Keynes. Verstappen does receive a replica of the trophies, but there was one that he wanted to keep to himself.
At the 2024 FIA Gala Awards, Verstappen collected his fourth world championship trophy. However, in an interview with ServusTV, he admitted that attending events is not one of his favourite things to do, even if it is to collect his championship trophy.
This F1 trophy Verstappen wanted to keep for himself
Despite usually being okay with receiving the replicas, Verstappen wanted to keep this trophy to himself. "What I win on the track goes to the team. I get replicas. I only kept the one from Brazil myself."
After the 2023 season, where he easily dominated the other drivers on the track, the 2024 was not so glamorous. His fourth world title did not come easy to him. "Maybe it was the most difficult, but not the most beautiful world title. That was last year."
The Dutch driver admitted, "It wasn't easy; we had a lot of stress. When I crossed the finish line in Las Vegas, I was relieved. It was a very tiring season."
