F1 drivers World Championship standings after China sprint race

Max Verstappen has widened the gap to his rivals in the battle for the world title with his victory and accompanying eight points. Verstappen is two points ahead of Sergio Perez and saw Ferrari drivers in particular lose many points.

Max Verstappen won the sprint race in China from P4 after all, allowing him to add eight points. This brings the Dutchman to 85 points in the championship. Sergio Perez lost a few points to his teammate with his third place, but still remains within striking distance. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz lose more ground with P4 and P5 respectively.

For Lando Norris, it was also a big disappointment. The Briton could have scored a lot of points after his pole position but lost ground at the start and finished sixth. Lewis Hamilton did do good business, though. The Briton finished second, scoring seven points.
