Marko ranks Verstappen as one of best drivers of all time: 'More to come'
Where Christian Horner already called Max Verstappen unhuman after the Chinese Grand Prix, Helmut Marko is also impressed with the Dutchman. Red Bull Racing's top Austrian advisor did have one moment where he was a little worried about the outcome of the race.
"It was quite a turbulent race. The result was a bit mixed up because of the safety cars. We had a little bit of stress two laps before the end, because there were debris that Max drove over," Marko began opposite the German branch of Sky Sports.
Otherwise, it was a simple race for Verstappen, who started from pole position. It was also the 58th win for the Red Bull driver, who is slowly working his way towards the absolute top of the list. He is currently third in terms of most wins, but if things keep going at this pace, he could well join Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton sooner than previously expected.
'Verstappen one of the best F1 drivers of all time'
Marko then said: "Max drives absolutely flawlessly at every stage. He pays attention to the tyres. I think we can think about the world title again. He is one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers. He is currently between number two and number five [all-time], or somewhere else. He will only be 27 this year, so there is a lot to come."
