McLaren fit most upgrades, Mercedes and Aston Martin also show out
There was already talk by several teams that the first major upgrades to the Formula 1 cars would be introduced in Miami. Consequently, there are many teams with many modifications to the cars for the first Grand Prix in the United States.
One upgrade for Verstappen and Red Bull
Red Bull are not yet undergoing any major changes in Miami. Max Verstappen's car is only undergoing an upgrade in terms of the car's reliability. This upgrade has been done to the floor, with the aim of saving weight.
Upgrades for Mercedes, McLaren and Aston Martin in Miami
Mercedes' cars are undergoing more changes towards the Miami race weekend. The silver arrows take with them two upgrades that should remain standard on the car. One of the upgrades is to the floor and the other to the front suspension. The upgrades are both performance-oriented. In addition, Mercedes are also bringing two upgrades specifically for the Miami circuit. These upgrades have to do with cooling and with the front wing.
McLaren are bringing the biggest upgrades for this weekend. The Woking-based stable are bringing no fewer than ten upgrades, nine of which are performance-related. These include changes to the front wing, the front suspension and the front corner of the car. In addition, the floor has not been overlooked either, likewise the sidepods, bonnet and cooling. The rear suspension and rear corner have not been overlooked either. Finally, the beam wing has also been modified, only this is an upgrade only for the Miami circuit.
Aston Martin are the last top team to undergo some changes. In total, the Silverstone-based team are fitting five upgrades, four of which are specifically for the Miami circuit. These upgrades are on the front wing, bonnet, rear wing and beamwing. Aston Martin's final upgrade is to the chassis. This one is for driver cooling.
Ferrari not bringing upgrades to Miami
A number of smaller teams are also bringing upgrades. For example, Williams are doing a performance upgrade to the front wing. Visa Cash App RB are taking performance upgrades to the floor and diffuser. Stake F1 Team isaretaking upgrades to the front wing and to the rear wing. Both of these are for the Miami Grand Prix only. Finally, Haas are fitting a performance upgrade to the floor. Ferrari and Alpine are both not bringing any updates to the car to Miami.
