Would Coulthard like to see a Leclerc title more than Hamilton's eighth?
Ferrari are still chasing down Red Bull Racing, but after McLaren have defeated the Austrian team at Miami Grand Prix and it has been announced that Adrian Newey leaves the team, many pundits and analysts are talking about who could chase down Max Verstappen for the title. One team tipped to be a challenger are Ferrari. David Coulthard talked about who would he rather see win a title: Lewis Hamilton or Charles Leclerc.
Former F1 driver David Coulthard cannot decide between the two possibilites. "I'm actually torn between wanting to see Lewis establish that eight title and wanting to see Charles (Leclerc) get a world championship," he said in the podcast he co-hosts, Formula for Success.
The Briton is also connected to the Monegasque driver's family, he explained. "I think the whole family, I saw Arthur the other night, his brother. His mom used to cut my hair. I think they're just a lovely family, and so understated when you consider he is one of the most famous race drivers in the world driving for one of the most famous teams in the world."
On the other hand, Pierre Casiraghi was clear with his answer. "I love Lewis' driving skills and I met him a few times, and always thought he was a nice guy. But I'm terribly sorry, but I'm going to have to be fully rooting for Charles. There would be no space for Lewis for me," said the nephew of the King of Monaco, Albert II.
