Marko shocked by Perez's action: 'I really thought 'god almighty''

It was quite a shock for everyone who loves Red Bull Racing when Sergio Perez almost knocked Max Verstappen off the track at the Miami Grand Prix. Helmut Marko too shot off his chair when he saw it, he says in his column for Speedweek.com.
At the start of the main race in Miami, Verstappen was in the lead. He kept it after the start, but the Dutchman was very close to losing the race, not to mention his own teammate. Perez was on the dirty side of the track and started braking later, causing him to overshoot.
Marko shocked by Perez's action
Marko says: "When Perez almost caused a crash at the first corner after the start, I thought to myself 'god almighty'. It reminded me of Mexico [2023], where Checo also did such a manoeuvre in the first corner. Thank God it worked out well this time. Of course, it would have been his Waterloo if he had taken out Max."
As for the rest, Marko also has positive words to say for the Mexican: "Overall, Checo drove a good race; his gap was manageable. He was also lucky that Carlos Sainz got another five-second penalty, which moved him up to fourth. What I found impressive was how he kept Norris behind him, who was driving a much faster car."
