After McLaren made a big move in Miami with the upgrades they had brought to the race weekend, it is time for upgrades to the Ferrari at Imola. Where will the Scuderia end up after these modifications to the car?

Will Red Bull's dominance end soon?

Since the start of the new regulations introduced in 2022, Red Bull has been the team most watched by other teams. The dominance of the Austrian racing stable has been incredible. In 2023, Max Verstappen broke almost every record there was to be had behind the wheel of the RB19.

Yet it now seems that other teams are also making a move forward, highlighted by McLaren's performance in Miami. They won the race with Lando Norris, and Verstappen was beaten on speed by his good friend.

Upgrades for Ferrari at Imola

Ferrari are also going to come out with a new package of parts, which will be introduced at Imola. Charles Leclerc has great expectations from the upgrades, he told opposite Viaplay: "It’s going to be an important one because that will obviously define a little bit of the future of the season and I’m looking forward to that. I hope we can make a significant step forward."

Team boss Frederic Vasseur told F1 TV: "Yes, sure, but you know, it's not a secret. But honestly, it's so tight that the upgrades are important. But it's also to try to get the best from what you have and to do a good job with the setup, driving, putting everything together, and not to expect too much about the upgrades. It's also the quality of the job done on track to make the difference."

Red Bull's backlash imminent?

With Ferrari also set to introduce a large package of upgrades after McLaren, the wait is on for a counter-reaction from Red Bull. However, Horner has yet to reveal anything about major upgrades: "I don't know about big packages these days, but I think let's wait and see over the next few races."
