Jake Dennis secured pole position for the second E-Prix of the Formula E weekend in Berlin. To do so, he beat Nick Cassidy, the race winner of the first race of the weekend. Nyck de Vries, absent due to contractual obligations in the WEC, missed another good opportunity in Formula E qualifying.

In the group stage, it was Mitch Evans, Maximilian Gunther, Edoardo Mortara (De Vries' teammate), Nick Cassidy, Stoffel Vandoorne, Norman Nato, Pascal Wehrlein and Jake Dennis who advanced to the quarter-finals. Evans, Cassidy, Nato and Dennis then won the duels.

In the semi-finals, Evans took on Cassidy, who recorded the fastest time of the two. Dennis beat Nato and also advanced to the final, where he faced Cassidy, Saturday's race winner. In the end, it was Dennis who prevailed and he will therefore start from pole in Sunday's race.

Mahindra Racing had a good weekend. Nyck de Vries' team normally runs in the rear, but Mortara managed to finish eighth in qualifying, after also finishing eighth in the first race on Saturday.
