Despite taking several upgrades to Imola, the Red Bull Racing team's performance has been disappointing so far. Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner reacts on Instagram to Friday's disappointing performance.

Although 2024, like 2023, looked like it was going to be the year in which Red Bull Racing would lead every race, the reality is different. After a stoppage in Australia and a weaker weekend in Miami, Imola also does not seem to be the most suitable circuit for the RB20.

Horner not throwing in the towel just yet

Max Verstappen did not make it beyond fifth place in the first free practice and seventh in the second free practice. His teammate, Sergio Perez, did not fare much better. He finished fourth in the first free practice and eighth in the second free practice. Christian Horner admits that the weekend is not yet going as hoped. "A tricky Friday for us in Imola as we looked to find the right balance with the car around this iconic European circuit," the Brit writes.

The team boss remains confident that things should work out during the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix weekend. "We’ll be working hard overnight to resolve and find the grip that both Max and Checo were looking for today. That’s what practice is for and we have time to get where we want to be before qualifying tomorrow," Horner said.
