Palmer knows how Perez should keep his place at Red Bull: 'I'm sure!'

Sergio Perez is often not close enough to Max Verstappen in the rankings, according to Jolyon Palmer. The reigning world champion finished first in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix with considerable effort, but Perez did not get beyond P8. Street circuit races are coming up, so according to Palmer, Perez can make the difference there.
Perez is often characterised as the 'king of street circuits'. The Monaco Grand Prix is just around the corner, being held this weekend in the Principality on the Mediterranean. Palmer thinks that, with good performances on street circuits, the Mexican could stay with Red Bull for a while longer, he explained.
Palmer on Perez's situation
"After Melbourne, Miami and Imola this year, Red Bull's management will be asking themselves if they can rely on Perez to achieve what they require from him.," Palmer told Formula 1. "The driver market is still very open and no doubt Red Bull will be casting their eyes around to see if they can sure up their second seat if Checo can’t raise his game."
"With some of his stronger circuits ahead, Perez will need to bounce back and prove to Red Bull that he can still help in the increasingly fierce battle at the front. He has already won in Monaco before and if he regains his form on the street circuit, I’m sure it would go a long way to keeping him in the fold for next year.," Palmer said.
