- Sandy van Wijngaarden
Due to the narrow streets in Monaco, it is possible for someone to get a penalty for holding up another driver. Several drivers had to go to the stewards after qualifying. Read here what the final starting grid is for the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix.
After qualifying, Carlos Sainz had to report to the stewards for holding up Alexander Albon. Fortunately, the Spaniard was able to breathe a sigh of relief and got off without a grid penalty. Nico Hulkenberg also had to report for holding up Esteban Ocon. He did not receive a penalty for this moment either.
However, both Haas drivers were disqualified because the DRS slot was too wide. They will therefore start the Grand Prix from the last two spots. Charles Leclerc will start the race from first place after his pole position. Oscar Piastri split the two Ferraris in second place. Carlos Sainz will start from spot three.
