F1 Today Ferrari could lose key man if they would sign Newey

Newey rumours began speculation about teams trying to approach other leading figures in the world of Formula 1, the 24 hours of Le Mans race will soon begin with an exclusive interview with Peugeot driver Nico Müller, and George Russell's workout with Alexander Albon: GPblog presents you the best news of the day.

Aston Martin to go after Cardiale?

No matter Adrian Newey will end up, that will cause some other movements in the current market. According to Motorsport.com, Aston Martin are looking to go after Enrico Cardiale from Ferrari. The British team hope that if Newey is signed by the Italians, Cardiale would be open to move elsewhere.

Frederic Vasseur also gave an update on the Newey situation. The team principal told the Italian branch of the aforementioned source: "The most important thing is stability in the team. As I indicated before, we are moving in the right direction."

Russell works out with Albon

George Russell has shared a picture on social media, showing that he is preparing for the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix with Alexander Albon, who earned his first points of the season last weekend. The one-time race winner wrote: "Can't get away from this guy" on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Earlier, Russell has also set a target by which Grand Prix Mercedes should be fighting at the front with Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren. "We know from the past we are really good at building throughout the season so we are hoping by Silverstone we are going to be in that fight with the guys in front of us," said the Briton.

WEC and single-seaters

Elsewhere, Ferrari are also rumoured to possibly make their way into Formula E, after last season, they conquered the 24h of Le Mans race, but there has been no confirmation at all.

While Mick Schumacher currently still awaits for a seat in Formula 1, over in IndyCar, they would welcome him with open arms, team owner Dale Coyle told Auto, Motor un Sport. "Mick Schumacher is a perfect example. We would love to welcome such a great pilot here," the American said about the driver who was let go by Haas F1.
