McLaren are on a steady rise. In 2023, the Canadian Grand Prix was yet to be a turning point for the British team, and in chaotic race, they missed out on finishing in the points. Entering the 2024 Grand Prix in the North American country, McLaren are now one of the favourites. Team principal Andrea Stella hopes to tackle the upcoming challenge successfully in Montreal.

"We are pleased to have returned to the factory from the double header with two P2 trophies. Both Lando and Oscar’s strong finishes enabled us to continue securing a stronghold in our Constructors’ Championship position," Stella addressed the Imola and Monaco Grand Prix positively ahead of the upcoming weekend in Canada. Thanks to collecting 30 points in the principality, McLaren now have a healthy gap to Mercedes, and look forward to challenge their rivals ahead of them, Red Bull and Ferrari.

The team principal is hoping for a strong result, but remained cautious in underlining that new challenges await his team in North America. "However, we are still towards the start of the season, so we have to work hard to ensure these results keep coming. The Circuit Gilles-Villenueve is a driver and fan favourite, and one that poses a few new challenges when compared to circuits we’ve raced at so far this year."

"We go into this year’s Canadian Grand Prix more optimistic than last year’s, but with the understanding that we still face a tough battle to be competitive here. Our aim is to build a car that can be consistently competitive at all types of circuit, and the team are working hard to unlock that performance," Stella declared the next step in their process.
