Norris has concerns about performance in Canada: 'We have our work cutout'
Since the Chinese Grand Prix, a McLaren driver had stepped on the podium every time, including Lando Norris' first win in Miami. As the British team seem to be on the rise these last weekends in Formula One, Norris looks forward to the weekend in Canada, but expects their rivals to be up there in Montreal, McLaren report.
Expectations for Canada
"I enjoy racing in Montréal, it’s a fun track with some challenging sections which make it more exciting," Norris began ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix. "Our car has performed well at a few different types of circuits, but we know we might have our work cut out in Canada. Our competitors are likely to be strong here," said the Briton, expecting another battle between his team and the duo of Red Bull and Ferrari.
"It was nice to have a week off after the Imola-Monaco double header. We walked away with two podiums, and a lot of points for the team," the driver added, who also visited the Champions League final during his break ahead of the weekend in Canada.
After Norris' victory in Miami, McLaren are now on course to establish themselves as a force that is constantly at the front. "I’ve had productive sessions with my engineers back in the MTC, and now I’m excited to see what we can do this weekend," Norris concluded. McLaren currently trail Red Bull in the constructors' standings by 92 points.
