This is the punishment for Ferrari after blunder in Canada

Ferrari have been fined for using the wrong tyres during the second free practice session in Canada. Charles Leclerc, whose car used the wrong tyres, escaped further punishment.

It was a remarkable scene during the second free practice session. It soon emerged on screen that the stewards were examining Leclerc's Ferrari. The reason for the investigation: the tyres used. Leclerc drove out on intermediates and apparently should not have used them. This is because the track had not been labelled 'wet' by the FIA, and then you are only allowed to use slicks.

This is the penalty for Ferrari

The stewards decided to fine Ferrari €5,000 for violating this rule. Article 30.5 of the sporting regulations states that wet tyres may only be used if the track has been declared 'wet' by the race organisers.

Incidentally, the moment also caused confusion over team radio. Leclerc was told to come to the pits. Leclerc, thinking something was going wrong, wanted to know more details. However, the race engineer did not want to report that to avoid bigger problems. However, Leclerc was assured that there was no major problem but that he had to come to the pits.
