This is how Lewis Hamilton plans to recover from P7 in the Canadian GP

Lewis Hamilton had a strong start to the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, setting the fastest time in FP3, ahead of rival Max Verstappen and teammate George Russell. Despite being on the pace throughout qualifying, the final qualifying round didn't go to plan, and Hamilton will start seventh on the grid for the Grand Prix.

Canada remains to be a special Grand Prix for the British driver, who won his first F1 race in Montreal, just six races into his Formula 1 career. He has since started on pole six times at the track and has a total of seven wins in Montreal. At Sunday's drivers parade, Hamilton shared where he thinks he can get the benefit out of his car in order to climb up the grid: "I don't know. I'm working that out. I guess I just have to figure it out as I go. It's just dried up, but it's now raining again. So it's going to be a tricky day today for everyone."

Hamilton looks to 'bide his time'

Nevertheless, he remains collected ahead of the race: "I think it's just about just biding your time and keeping you cool. It's a track where you have to be quite aggressive and you're throwing the car around," the Mercedes driver said. With rain forecasted once again for the afternoon, Hamilton was asked whether he can take advantage of the unpredictable weather to which he replied: "I hope so."
