Lando Norris was hindered by the safety car in the Canadian Grand Prix. Whereas it came to his aid to help him win the Miami Grand Prix earlier in the season, this time, it troubled him. But the McLaren drivers promise not to complain about the bad luck.

Norris was leading when the safety car came out but didn't pit immediately. He had to wait a lap, whereas his rivals pitted straight away. This meant that he dropped back to P3 by the time he came out of the pits. He explains this painful moment straight after the race.

Perez reacts to safety car hindrance

"The safety car had me over, unlike how it helped me in Miami. I thought it was pretty perfect from my side. Just unlucky. It was so stressful but enjoyable at the same time. I was in the lead, pulling away. Things were going beautifully, but it's Montreal so something has to come into play. I'm not going to be the one to complain. It happens; that's racing," Norris said in the post-race interview on the grid.

"Fair play to Max. He drove a good race. We got good points for the team. It's what it is. The car has been great all weekend," Norris added.
