Max Verstappen won the Canadian Grand Prix in sublime fashion. With this, the Dutchman is recovering from the disastrous weekend he had in Monaco. After the race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Verstappen was very happy.

Reaction Verstappen after Canadian GP

The championship leader said: "It was a pretty crazy race, a lot of things were happening. We had to be on top of our calls. As a team we did well today. We remained calm, pitted at the right time. The Safety Car worked out nicely for us but even after that, we were manging the gaps quite well. I loved it. That was a lot of fun. Those kind of races, you need those once in a while."

Mercedes and McLaren were long involved in the battle for victory. The changing weather conditions kept things exciting for a long time. Eventually, Verstappen took the lead after a safety car. He then did not relinquish this.

When asked about the battle with McLaren and Mercedes, Verstappen responded: "Yes, they stayed with it in different stages of the race. So it was a lot of fun on the track." When he is then asked about whether he experienced problems with his suspension, he replies, "Not particularly an issue. We know what it is, so we just need to work on it, But nevertheless, we won. That's the most important."
