The battle at the front seems to consist of four different teams, with McLaren, Red Bull Racing, Ferrari and Mercedes all vying for the top step of the podium. The next race is in Barcelona, and Oscar Piastri has already pointed out who he expects to be the fastest.

As Charles Leclerc predicted ahead of the 2024 season, the F1 season has become a veritable race to catch up. It always comes down to which team comes up with the best updates and when. In addition, it is also circuit-dependent on which car performs best.

Piastri expects Red Bull to be strong in Barcelona

Now that all the top teams have come out with strong updates, McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes can all compete for podium places and victories. McLaren driver Oscar Piastri expects his team to be in good shape again in Barcelona. "I think we can still be confident. Definitely. I wouldn't say we're weak in high speed. It's just that others are probably caught up a little bit. So we'll see. I think I'm pretty confident we'll be somewhere towards the front as well."

The Barcelona circuit is more of an old-school circuit where many expect Red Bull to be strong. Piastri too thinks so. "I think Red Bull will probably be a bit stronger than they have been. But I think we'll be in the fight."
