Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc expects Red Bull to be as dominant in Barcelona as it was at the start of the season. The Monegasque reveals this ahead of the Spanish GP. Leclerc assumes the European circuits will suit Red Bull better.

The Formula 1 circus will take to the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit this weekend. Many Formula 1 teams will be tense along the pit wall, as this race says a lot about all teams' chances for the rest of the season. Max Verstappen and Red Bull are expected to come back stronger after some difficult races.

Leclerc predicts a Red Bull comeback in Barcelona

If it is up to Leclerc, the Austrian racing stable, is the favourite for the GP of Spain. "We will see a Red Bull going very fast around here. I also believe that the last four races from Miami to the last race in Canada were quite a lot about kerb riding as well. And it's probably not one of the strengths of the Red Bulls. And if we are in the fight there, it's a good sign for the rest of the year," the Monegasque revealed.

Leclerc refused to say that Ferrari just want to put the pressure of being favourites on Red Bull. "I'm not going to say we are downplaying ourselves. I truly believe that coming Sunday, and especially during the race, they will have the upper hand. How much will the advantage be? I'm not sure. And it's impossible to answer for now. We are much closer than where we were seven, or eight months ago. I should be very honest about where I think we will be for this weekend. That means I think we are a bit behind Red Bull coming race day in qualifying. I think it will be a bit closer."

Leclerc wants to pull from a different barrel after dramatic Ferrari weekend in Canada

After his redemptive victory at his home circuit in Monaco, Leclerc experienced a terrible weekend with Ferrari in Canada. The Monegasque, like teammate Carlos Sainz, failed to cross the finish line at the Montreal street circuit. Nevertheless, Leclerc is trying to remain calm. "We've had a bad weekend in Montreal. And now everybody says Ferrari is doing bad. And we have a good weekend in Monaco, so you are straightaway in the fight for the championship. So we have to be emotionally flat and let this talk aside. And within the team, it really is the case. We don't really care about what's happening outside the team. We care of what's the mentality within the team. And the mentality is really good."
