Ferrari was in great form before the disappointing weekend in Canada. The Scuderia seems to have made a pretty big step with upgrades. In Spain, however, Charles Leclerc experienced difficulties with the car so far, he said after the first two free practice sessions.

In Canada, Leclerc experienced a disastrous weekend. After a poor qualifying session and a wrong choice with strategy, Ferrari decided to take the Monegasque's car inside. When Carlos Sainz also crashed, the disaster for the Scuderia was complete.

Difficult day for Leclerc and Sainz in Barcelona too

In free practice, things were still not going great for Leclerc. With sixth place ahead of him, he was not yet satisfied. The Monegasque therefore says: "Overall, a tricky day on my side. We struggled quite a bit with the balance of the car, so set-up work will be our main focus ahead of tomorrow. We ran a new package in FP2, but we still have lots of work to do as I am not fully comfortable yet."

Sainz also speaks of a difficult day, despite his P2 in FP2: "Quite a tricky Friday, as always here in Barcelona when the sun is up and the track changes quite quickly. We struggled a bit in both sessions to get the right balance on the car, but I think everyone had similar issues today. So overall, I’m reasonably happy with the car, but we have work to do, especially race pace-wise. What I really enjoyed today was the atmosphere at the track."
