Norris reacts to missing out on Sprint pole position in Austria

After claiming pole position in Barcelona for the second time in his career, Lando Norris just missed out on starting from pole position in the Sprint at the Red Bull Ring. The McLaren driver reacts to his performance on Friday afternoon.

Just 0.093 seconds was Lando Norris slower than Max Verstappen in sprint qualifying. The Briton managed to outqualify his teammate, Oscar Piastri, but just missed out on P1 because of that small gap to the defending world champion.

"I think reasonably good to be honest, I never got quite comfortable until my final lap so I'm happy with that," Norris began to F1TV in Austria. "Closest as it has been the whole year so no difference but it must have been a nice lap by Max and good position for tomorrow."

Norris remains quiet about Sprint

About the upcoming Sprint Race in Spielberg, the one-time Grand Prix winner remained indifferent. "From what we see at the minute yes, but otherwise I'm not sure," the Briton briefly concluded.
