Max Verstappen will start the sprint race in Austria in first place. The Dutchman was fastest in sprint qualifying and hopes to drive to victory in the shortened race. View the final starting grid for the sprint in Austria here.

Verstappen will start the sprint race from pole position, with his friend and rival Lando Norris at his side. The Briton fell narrowly short of beating Verstappen in qualifying, so now has to do it in a race. On the second row of the grid, Oscar Piastri and George Russell will be hoping for something to go wrong up front so that there is a possibility of victory for them.

For Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc, it was a disappointing sprint qualifying session. Perez was held up in SQ3 by Esteban Ocon and as a result, finished in jjust seventh. Charles Leclerc did not set a time at all and therefore starts from P10.

Before the sprint race, parts were also replaced on Alexander Albon's car. As the cars were already in Parc Ferme, Albon now has to start the race from the pit lane.
