Lando Norris is ill, the Briton announced after the sprint race in Austria. The Briton did not want to use it as an excuse for a lesser result, but was definitely suffering.

Norris finished third in the sprint race in Austria. The Briton was hugely disappointed afterwards and even called himself an amateur. In making that statement, Norris mainly referred to opening the door for Max Verstappen after Norris had just passed him.

After the race, however, Norris was asked about how he felt, considering the McLaren driver was actually sick. "No, I don't know, I can't say how much it's affecting me. It's not helping, that's probably the main thing, but I wouldn't say anything that's changing my performance on track, you know, it's not to that level, so just, yeah, just talking, so stop asking me stuff and I'll be happy," said a smiling and coughing Norris.

Asked if it is not annoying that he is sick on such a busy race weekend, Norris continued: "But small things away from the track and just being tired and not sleeping good and that kind of stuff. So I'm sure a little bit, but nothing that I would use as an excuse to help me on track," concluded the Briton.
