Max Verstappen further extended his championship lead with a sprint race victory in Austria. The Dutchman scored two more points than his closest rival Lando Norris. While McLaren was the team that scored the most points, and now they are even closer behind Ferrari and Red Bull Racing.

Verstappen gained eight points from his victory in Spielberg, putting him on 227 points. The Red Bull driver gained two points on Lando Norris on Saturday, bringing the gap to 72 points. Charles Leclerc scored only two points, losing ground on the duo. Oscar Piastri did good business with his second place and is slowly climbing towards the top-five.

Among the constructors, it was McLaren that managed to earn in the most points. The second and third places of Piastri and Norris allowed McLaren to score thirteen points. That meant four more points were scored by Red Bull Racing, which saw Sergio Perez get no further than P8. Ferrari scored six points and Mercedes also scored eight points.
