Horner on Jos Verstappen allegations: 'Nothing to say about it'

Even after qualifying and pole position for Max Verstappen, the feud between Jos Verstappen and Christian Horner in Austria continued. The Red Bull Racing team boss did not really want to respond to Max's father's accusations.
Jos Verstappen was due to step into a Red Bull F1 car, the RB8, in Spielberg on Sunday during the Legend Parade. The former Formula 1 driver put a line through that himself when it was brought to his attention that Horner would have gone out of his way to prevent Verstappen Sr. from getting into action. The Red Bull team boss and CEO was even said to have told Jos to 'just watch out if that car will still brake'.
Horner was criticised by Viaplay when confronted with that statement by Jos Verstappen. "Nothing to comment on that. It's obviously a bit of noise and our focus is all very much on the Grand Prix and Max is doing a great job, the team's performing well and obviously we want to carry that performance into tomorrow," was the politically correct response from the 50-year-old Briton.
Horner on Verstappen's pole
That after a period of drought when it comes to capturing poles, Verstappen was once again the fastest in a qualifying session at the Red Bull Ring logically pleases Horner. "Fantastic performance. I mean, he was quickest on all four sets of tyres. So, an incredible performance by him on a track where the margins are usually so small."
About Perez, Horner can be less satisfied. The Mexican starts from eighth place. "We're going to need Checo to have a good race tomorrow. So he used all his tyres to get to Q3. So, expectations in Q3 were low because he had no new tyres left. But I'm hopeful that he can have a good race tomorrow and use the two new sets of hard tyres that he still has available to him, which others don't have."
