A fire in the hospitality unit ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix meant McLaren could not use their familiar unit in the Austrian paddock, but the British team had a limited number of relations as guests.

In Barcelona, there was a sudden small fire, probably started in the kitchen of the McLaren hospitality tent. What exactly caused that fire is the subject of an investigation. Currently, the hospitality is with the supplier in Germany, where it is being cleaned. Removing the smoke (air) is the main concern.

In any case, the team of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri had to move to another and significantly smaller accommodation—supplied by the German company—where McLaren welcomed the team members, their relations, and the media that attended.

Back in their own unit at Silverstone

If all goes according to plan, McLaren will be able to use their fully restored, in-house hospitality again next weekend at Silverstone. Just in time, because a lot of guests are expected at their home race in Silverstone.
