Carlos Sainz's future team is still unknown at the moment. The Spaniard has been rumoured to almost every single team now, but he has not made his mind up just yet. The Spaniard gave an update on his stance at Silverstone.

"I have decided not to talk about my future, until I take the decision," Sainz declared talking to GPblog among others ahead in Silverstone.

"I’m going to lie: Mondays to Thursdays before I arrive to the track, there's a lot of phone calls a lot of time spent on the phone, meetings with my management team but also with the teams that I'm talking to. Trying to understand and trying to have the full picture of the situation," the Spaniard explained how much he thinks about which team could be the best option for him.

He added: "It's probably quite a stressful and time consuming instead of being able to to fully disconnect and recharge. Your mind is somewhere else, and wondering what the future will be. Not an ideal situation at the same time when I arrive on Thursday, I feel like I'm able to perform as soon as i get into an engineering meeting. As soon as I put the helmet on, I feel 100% in the car."

Sainz on his long-term future

Lewis Hamilton got the best of out of his move, when he decided to join Mercedes for the 2013 season. Others, like Fernando Alonso or Daniel Ricciardo, did not have the same success after changing teams in their career. Sainz now also finds himself in a similar situation.

"There's a bit of guessing, a bit of luck, trying to educate yourself on what's happening around in Formula 1. What I've thought about is, don't judge the move in the short term or in the next few races or in the next year. I think you always need to see and criticise or analyse a driver's move with perspective in time. Was this the right move for Carlos in five years time or not. That's why I'm going to take every time possible that I can to take such an important decision because I'm going to take every time possible that I can to take such an important decision because it involves the outcome of the next few years of my life. So I think it's valid for me to give myself the time," he concluded.
