Marko disappointed with nanny Norris and McLaren

Zak Brown did not leave it at that after the Austrian Grand Prix. In the United Kingdom, the McLaren CEO was harsh about Red Bull Racing and the team's encouragement of Max Verstappen's behaviour. Helmut Marko reacts to the rival's statements to GPblog.

Brown and Andrea Stella have been very clear since the Austrian Grand Prix: Max Verstappen was guilty of the incident with Lando Norris and should have been punished harder for it. Both have additionally stated that Verstappen's current actions show that there was not good enough intervention in the past.

Marko not happy with 'nanny' Norris

Asked to comment on Brown's statements, Marko said he had not heard them. When presented with the statements that Zak Brown made, namely that Red Bull would encourage Max's behaviour, that Red Bull has problems with fathers and Red Bull would have further HR problems, Marko responded with surprise: "We don't have any issues with fathers and I was very disappointed about the way Norris was during a fantastic fight was starting complaining like a nanny."

However, where Norris backtracked on his statements in the United Kingdom, stating that he might indeed have overreacted, McLaren's CEO did not. "I guess, an annoyed attack, yes, so maybe he must find the line within his team. Let them race."
