Unrest flared up again within Red Bull Racing at the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, specifically between Jos Verstappen and Christian Horner. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff gives his opinion on the situation.

Wolff: 'Sad to deny Jos Verstappen of that opportunity'

Prior to the Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, Jos Verstappen was supposed to drive a Red Bull as part of the Legends Parade, which also included David Coulthard, Johnny Herbert and Gerhard Berger. However, at the last minute, Jos decided not to drive because Horner would block his participation.

Wolff wants to face Viaplay not to say too much about it, but did have this to say: "I think it's pitiful to take father's opportunity away to drive his son's car. That's all."

He then went on to ask about a possible scenario in which Max Verstappen would end up at Mercedes next year after all. "He's with Red Bull and they're winning races, and he's heading to a championship, so I would never expect that to happen for 2025, it's clear. But in Formula One, things happen for different reasons, so I don't want to take a driver decision yet," Wolff said.
