VIDEO: Big crash at Iowa Speedway in IndyCar, car flies in the air
- Ludo van Denderen
A huge crash occurred in the final metres of last night's IndyCar race. Sting Ray Robb flew through the air, only to end upside down on the asphalt. Fortunately, the American did not sustain any injuries from the crash.
The crash took place on the last lap and involved several cars, so the biggest casualty was Sting Ray Robb, who drove into the back of Alexander Rossi. It looked like the Arrow McLaren driver ran out of fuel. Ed Carpenter and Kyle Kirkwood were so startled by this that they spun.
Sting Ray Robb is awake and alert following this last-lap crash at Iowa Speedway.

Robb was taken to the medical centre for safety measures, but no injuries were revealed there. His family and his AJ Foyt Racing team later thanked the medical team via social media for the decisive action and IndyCar because the cars are so strong these days. Incidentally, the race was won by Will Power, who beat Alex Palou.
