After the fire in the McLaren hospitality in Spain, huge thunderstorms in and around Budapest have caused flooding at the Hungaroring. At McLaren's hospitality, the roof has been destroyed by the storm. It has since been announced that hard work is underway to repair the roof. McLaren are unable to catch a break in the paddock at the moment.

There have been bizarre conditions in Budapest. During the week there was talk of code red because of the enormous heat, but currently, one downpour after another is taking place. McLaren and also Red Bull have fallen victim to this. Earlier, GPblog reported that part of a Red Bull truck was literally submerged in the pit lane due to the high water. No rain is in all likelihood expected during qualifying and the race, however.
