Ralf Schumacher recently announced that he has been in a relationship with a man for two years. The former Formula 1 driver could count on a lot of support, but also had to face hateful online messages. Nico Hulkenberg, Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso reacted to the news.

Schumacher first came out openly about his same-sex relationship by sharing a photo of himself with his partner. This drew many positive reactions, but also some negative ones. According to Hulkenberg, that negativity is something that, especially in the online world, will not go away any time soon.
"It's a very personal matter but I congratulate him and you know if he's coming out with that there's nothing wrong with that," Hulkenberg said. "n modern times where diversity and adversity, everything is all to play for. So hate, there's always going to be hate in the world, especially obviously online. That's a place where people do and abuse it easily where they can hide. That's not great, not fantastic. But other than that, yes, all good"
Piastri admires Schumacher's decision. "I think it's great he feels comfortable coming out like that. I think that’s what we want as a sport, to be inclusive for everybody and have people feel safe in coming out, or whatever is in their lives. Congratulations to him and I think it's a good thing," said the McLaren driver.
Alonso fully agrees. "Same comments. Congratulations to him. Total support from my side and I'm sure all the F1 community. It's great that he feels good and we all feel good for him as well," said the Spaniard.
