Perez counters Tsunoda: 'Logical when you're in a lower-placed team'

Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Yuki Tsunoda spoke out clearly about the contenders for the seat next to Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing, should the Formula 1 team decide to part with Sergio Perez. Tsunoda believes he deserves the seat, but Perez again thinks that is his opinion.
Asked if he deserves the seat next to Verstappen, Tsunoda replied with a resounding 'yes' at the Hungaroring. When GPblog confronted him with that statement, Perez responded coolly. "I think a lot of drivers out there will love to have my seat, it's obvious," said the 34-year-old Mexican.
Perez: 'Logical that Tsunoda wants to move up'
"It's one of the top seats and it's normal for Yuki to want to move up. I think it's just normal when you are in a lower seat, you want to move up. That's just part of the nature of the sport. I've got nothing against it. I think it's good to have high ambitions in the sport," Perez said.
Perez was again the subject of conversation after the British GP at Silverstone because of his disappointing performance. According to recent statements by Helmut Marko and Christian Horner, Red Bull are increasing the pressure. However, Max Verstappen, of all people, defended his teammate: the Dutchman believes the RB20 has not exactly been easy to work with lately either.
