Hamilton has hopes for Hungary GP

Last season, Lewis Hamilton was in pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Then he failed to win the race, but with the current form he and Mercedes are in, this year could be different.

Two and a half years after his last victory in Saudi Arabia, Hamilton managed to win his home race at the Silverstone circuit. It was also Mercedes' second victory in a row and so it is fair to say that the Silver Arrows are in good shape at the moment. The question is: can this line continue in Hungary?

When asked if Hamilton expects to stay in the lead in the event of a pole position this year, he replied: "We have a much better race car than last year. I don't know exactly where we are this weekend. Hopefully, we are stronger than last year, but I think it will still be tight between us and the McLaren's and Red Bull's. Unless they have a small lead over us, I don't know, but we'll find out. The race pace will be much better than we have had in the past."

In recent years, Mercedes has definitely not been as good as before. However, there has been a lot of progress in recent weeks. "I would definitely say the body language and energy have changed in the last week," Hamilton says. "I'm still unsure about what to expect and I'm trying to prepare as well as I can. I think in the end it just shows that anything is possible. Just keep pushing, keep going. I'm sure there are challenges ahead, but good days are also possible."
