Magnussen adamant: 'Sainz holds everything up in driver's market'
- Jeroen Immink
Carlos Sainz is holding up everything and everyone in the search for a new team in Formula 1. Kevin Magnussen, whose contract at Haas will not be renewed, believes that the Spaniard is holding up the driver market. The Dane does not seem to want to leave Formula 1 just yet but will need to find a new employer soon.
"Would I have liked to continue here? I think had I continued it would have been cool to see the fruits of the momentum that's been built here recently. That would have been interesting," stated Magnussen, who sees Haas only getting better. The Dane, who already has more than 150 races in Formula 1 to his name, also thinks a project at another team may be interesting.
Magnussen sees Sainz keeping all teams on their toes
According to Magnussen, Sainz has put all interested teams on hold. "I think there are also other interesting projects out there and there are still seats available in Formula 1 that could be interesting and of course, there's Carlos [Sainz] kind of still holding up all that process, but it's eventually it's going to move so right now I think the best thing is just to focus on doing good races and then I'll be in contention for these available seats and things will fall into place eventually." The Dane concluded.
