The 13th Formula 1 weekend of the year in Hungary will be an important test for Red Bull to see where it stands against the competition. As 2024 progressed, the Austrian constructor saw other teams catch up, but updates on the cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez should start to turn the tide for Christian Horner's team.

Will Red Bull come up with more updates in 2024?

Verstappen already made it clear that the updates Red Bull is taking to Hungary are very important for the rest of the season. Of the first five Grands Prix in the Formula One season, Verstappen won four of them. The Dutchman, however, didn't finish on the top step of the podium in the last two races. Instead, the Mercedes pair of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton won those races respectively.

Monaghan explains upcoming updates after the Hungarian Grand Prix. There are still a fair number of modifications in the pipeline, according to the Chief Engineer. "The upgrade pipeline is pleasantly full, getting them to the car is tricky, and we will have to see how we get on in the coming weeks as to when we can put more on the car," Monaghan told several media outlets, including GPblog.

Monaghan on the updates in Hungary

The Red Bull man explained that the updates could work out well for his team at the Hungaroring. "Well based on the the data we've got coming into this race it should be valuable to us. I think really we rate it in terms of what everybody else has done don't we, we've made the biggest step we can make. Is it enough? We'll find out on Sunday afternoon that's really the rating of it, isn't it?"

Time was starting to get pretty tight for Red Bull, Monaghan also told us. "We looked to see how quickly we could bring this. This is the earliest opportunity. Everybody's close to us, aren't they? So we need to be at the top of our game and this is another small step. This is another small step and the upgrades are one part of it on both cars so it's a huge statement of thank you to everyone who has got it to this point." The chief engineer concluded.
