Mercedes mechanics continued working on the cars of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell last night. In doing so, they broke the curfew. As this is the first time this season, no penalty will follow.

Teams are allowed to break the curfew twice a year. This can come in handy in the event of a huge crash when a car needs to be rebuilt. Or, as in the case of Mercedes in Hungary, there is dissatisfaction with the balance of the car and the team wanted to work extra hours so that they were more competitive at the start of a qualifying session.
