Adrian Newey has asked interested F1 teams for more time, F1-insider.com reports. Red Bull Racing's top designer does not want to secure his future until after the summer break.

Newey is entering his final months at Red Bull Racing. Other than some minor issues, the top designer has not been involved with the Formula 1 team for some time and will be completely free to switch to another team in early 2025. Ferrari, Aston Martin and Williams have expressed interest in Newey, but they will have to be patient.

When will Newey announce his next team?

According to the German website, Newey has asked for more time. Newey doesn't not want to secure his future until after the summer break, at the end of August. Aston Martin is said to be the favourite to sign Aston Martin, according to the German medium, although a deal with Ferrari cannot be ruled out either.

A move to Aston Martin is advantageous for Adrian Newey as he himself has friends and family in England. Although the Briton also spends time in South Africa, he also still visits England regularly. A move to Aston Martin or Williams would maintain that, where a move to Ferrari would actually mean a move to Italy.
