On Saturday, Logan Sargeant once again out-qualified Red Bull's Sergio Perez. Although his performance was not strong enough to finish ahead of the Mexican on Sunday, the Williams driver was satisified with his early overtake and the pace of the car. Nevertheless, he was frustrated with his performance.

Sargeant started P14 behind his teammate Alex Albon for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix. On Saturday, he was furious after qualifying with the way he is being treated by other drivers. He questioned as to why he rarely receives space from others, claiming this wouldn't happen to others such as world champions Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. On Sunday, the American finished three places lower than where he started, as he claimed P17.

Speaking to GPblog among others in the paddock, the American reflected on his performance: "It was okay. I had a really bad start. I just didn't move off the line. Around here, it's an uphill battle from there. I feel like from a pace perspective, it was a good day. From a personal point of view, I think we struggled a little bit as a team. But, hey, it is what it is. Just disappointed with my start. Other than that, I think I didn't do anything wrong," he said.

The Williams driver is at risk of not having an F1 seat for 2025, after team boss James Vowles has made it clear the team are exploring alternative options. In a bid to keep his seat, Sargeant must improve his performance. In 2023, he scored one point in his rookie season, and is yet to score any this season. Nevertheless, he was impressed by his early overtake of Perez after the Red Bull gained places: "I shouldn't have been in that position, it was just because I had such a bad start that I ended up pretty much at the back. So disappointed with that but that move was good."

How does Sargeant expect to perform in Spa?

With the Belgium Grand Prix being the last race ahead of the summer break, Sargeant is determined to prove himself: "Things are progressing in the right direction," he explained. "I think we just need to keep chipping away we're doing all the right things. it's getting better every weekend. We just need to put it together in Spa," the American concluded.
