The upcoming Grand Prix weekend in Spa-Francorchamps will be very important for Sergio Perez. He needs to perform well to keep his seat at Red Bull Racing. Yuki Tsunoda knows all too well what contracts mean at Red Bull, and he expects an announcement.

Yuki Tsunoda himself has been given a one-year contract at Visa Cash App RB until 2025. As part of Red Bull's programme, he knows all too well how contracts work there. Previously, several drivers have had to leave their seats early, the most recent example being Nyck de Vries.

Contracts are worth little at Red Bull

So Sergio Perez's contract, which still runs until 2026, is also uncertain. This also applies to Tsunoda's own contract, he told GPblog and others at Spa. "Apparently, even with what Helmut say, they can play around with it. The contract is worth almost nothing. I guess this team [VCARB]."

The Belgian Grand Prix is the last race before the summer break. Tsunoda does not yet know what he will do during this holiday. He expects an announcement. "Depends on the news. I think I will go back to Japan. I haven't been back to Japan in the summer for the last six years. Looking forward to spending some time with my friends," Tsunoda said.
