Sergio Perez had another mixed first day of a race weekend, this time, in Belgium. At the first session, the Mexican finished seventh; he finished the second practice session ninth. In Red Bull Racing's press release, the 34-year-old driver looks back on his performance during the practice sessions at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

Perez states that both himself and Verstappen could not yet get the most out of the car. He attributes this to the different setups. "During the practice sessions we have been playing around with the set-up, but haven’t been able to fully extract everything out of the car yet. The Team got plenty of information from today with both cars running quite different and there’s a lot to analyse for tomorrow’s strategy."

Uncertain Perez ahead of qualifying

The six-time race winner is looking forward to the rest of the weekend in Belgium, but he also says it is not going to be easy. "It is going to be an interesting weekend coming up, tomorrow’s qualifying could be potentially wet and Sunday is looking dry at the moment. Going in to the weekend there are still a lot of unknowns so we’ll need to be able to adapt," Perez concluded.
