George Russell finished in P7 during qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix. While the Briton is bitter about the result, he speaks of a "difficult session" and considers it fair. The two-time race winner is looking forward to the Grand Prix, but he is anxious for Max Verstappen, who will try to move forward from P11.

"We've struggled here the last three years. I think it was important for us to revert back to something we know and see in the race tomorrow if we can get a good result," Russell said in the paddock after qualifying.

Russell does not think he can keep Verstappen behind him

Due to a grid penalty, Verstappen will start the race from 11th place, but despite that, Russell still sees Verstappen as a key competitor. "Red Bull are always flying here. It's one of the strongest circuits," he said. "It's obviously very tricky to place the car in the right position with how much bottoming you have through Eau Rouge. You're sort of dictating the flight height based on Eau Rouge. We need to assess what it's going to be."
