'Norris is a wonderful person, I think he is doing a fantastic job'

Lando Norris was under discussion after the Hungarian and Belgian Grand Prix finishes. At the Hungaroring, he missed out on his second F1 win to teammate Oscar Piastri and after the race at Spa-Francorchamps, he was self-critical. It was questioned whether Norris might be too sweet, but according to former Formula 1 driver Jan Lammers, the Briton is an example to many.
Lammers impressed by character Norris
"Turn 1 ruined my chance. Then I tried to avoid contact and missed the kerbs and flew off. Very stupid and embarrassing, but luckily the speed was there," Norris said after the Belgian GP. Following this comment, Norris' character was questioned. Lammers addressed this. According to the Zandvoort circuit director, other drivers can take an example from the Briton.
"I think he is a wonderful person," Lammers reveals in the NOS' Formula 1 podcast. "I have never heard anyone in recent years who can be so in a productive way, self-critical. And I think that helps him to keep going as well," the Dutchman said.
"I think he is doing a fantastic job, I think he is exemplary," Lammers continued. "The moment you don't admit a mistake but all the world sees that it's down to you then, that starts to frustrate. And then other people get angry. Then just admit it. Then you get rid of the discussion and then you can move on," Lammers added.
