Norris gives Verstappen good news: 'It's not enough at the moment'
- Cas van de Kleut
Lando Norris does not see himself as a title contender at the moment. The Brit told the Sky Sports F1 podcast. The McLaren driver believes he has made too many mistakes during the first half of the season.
In 2024, Norris can often challenge Max Verstappen. At the moment, however, the difference in the championship is still quite large: 78 points. So, with 10 races to go, Norris still has a big gap to make up.

In the podcast, Norris responded to his own statements after the Belgian Grand Prix that he needed the summer break to reset himself: "Look, it's two things. One is just a fresh mindset, almost just trying to reset a little bit. And two is reviewing our season so far. It's been incredible, but from my side, it's not been good enough I'll do what I can yesterday, today, tomorrow, when we come back before Zandvoort and even during the summer holiday," Norris said.
The Briton continued, "I'll use the time [during the summer break] to review and kind of reflect on my good things and also the things that I need to and have to improve if I want to be a contender. Because at the minute, simply I don't have what it takes because I've clearly made too many mistakes. But I know that. I don't need people to tell me that, you know. So I know what I've got to improve on, but it's about how I can work with the people I have around me who are there to support me to improve on these areas. And once I improve, then I'm confident things can look very, very strong. But at the minute, I definitely have those few areas to improve on."
