Steiner set to launch new book: 'After lawsuits, publisher is cautious'
- Ludo van Denderen
Guenther Steiner was team boss of Haas F1. Thanks to the Netflix series Drive to Survive, he became a media personality, and for the past year, the Italian has also been a best-selling author. His first book 'Surviving to Drive' was an outright success. On 10 October, the sequel will be released, again written with ghostwriter James Hogg. When speaking to GPblog, Steiner revealed what the new book will be called.
The second book is a sequel to the first, which described the 2022 season at Haas. "It's called Unfiltered. It's about the Haas story over the last ten years. It's the complete Haas story. How I got to the idea to do it, how I went around to find an investor, how I set it up, how we developed the team and so on," Steiner told GPblog in an exclusive interview.
Will Haas be happy with the book?
So a full insight into owner Gene Haas' team, a team set up by Steiner at the time. Whether Haas' team is going to be very happy with what Steiner tells them all remains to be seen. "We will see," the Italian laughed. "Obviously, after all the lawsuits I've got, the publishing company is very careful. At least that's what I think. But that's their responsibility. They've got good lawyers as well."
Steiner's comment refers to, among other things, a lawsuit from Haas F1, which is demanding millions from him. Steiner is alleged to have used the team's trademarks for the first book without permission.
