Where for a moment it seemed that a spot would become available for Yuki Tsunoda to drive at Red Bull Racing, this dream soon came to an end. Just after the Belgian Grand Prix, it was announced that Sergio Perez will continue driving at the Austrian team. Naturally, the Japanese driver wants to shine in the second half of the season. Who knows, maybe a promotion to Red Bull is even in the cards?

Looking ahead to the Grand Prix weekend at Zandvoort, Tsunoda talks about what he has been up to in the past few weeks. "I enjoyed the break and now I’m all set to go racing again. I went back to Japan and had a great time catching up with friends and my family, something I don’t get the chance to do very often during the season."

Besides a holiday to rest, the Japanese driver also went on a trip to get physically ready for the remaining 10 Grands Prix. "After that, I’ve been back in Italy, doing a training programme, with plenty of cycling and even some wakeboarding."

Tsunoda wants to keep up the momentum

The Visa Cash App RB driver hopes to continue his good results of late in the Netherlands. "Now it’s time for Zandvoort, a unique challenge with its tight, twisty track and its banked corners. We had a strong finish to the first part of the season, so I want to keep that momentum going from now on," Tsunoda said.
